We Da People: FROM ZERO TO A MEDIA COMMUNITY

What started as a new podcast became a growing media platform with an audience across YouTube and Instagram, a recognizable brand, merchandise, and sponsorship opportunities. I worked with the We Da People team to help launch the platform and build the content strategy and production foundation behind its growth.

The starting point

We Da People began without an established following. The opportunity was bigger than launching a podcast: it was creating a recognizable show, developing a consistent audience experience, and giving the platform room to grow beyond individual episodes.

The strategy

We built around a clear show identity and a repeatable content engine. Long-form YouTube conversations gave the brand a home for in-depth episodes. Short-form social content helped introduce the show to new audiences, while consistent creative packaging made the platform recognizable from one episode to the next.

The content covered culture, current events, community stories, and conversations around firearms and personal freedom. My role was focused on the brand, content, platform, and production strategy, not endorsement of every opinion expressed by guests or hosts.

What I helped build

  • Podcast launch planning, content positioning, and platform development.
  • A long-form YouTube publishing foundation and a strategy for short-form audience discovery.
  • Brand presentation and consistent episode packaging across channels.
  • A content ecosystem that could support a growing community, merchandise, and sponsorship opportunities.

The content

The channel and a run of episodes from the YouTube library, as captured from the platform.

The growth

Point-in-time figures from the platform's public profiles at the time they were captured, not lifetime growth totals or guaranteed outcomes.

  • 75.8KYouTube subscribers
  • 406Videos published on YouTube
  • 46.2KInstagram followers on @wedapeopletv

The project expanded into a community, merchandise, and brand sponsorships.

Why it matters

A successful content platform needs more than episodes. It needs an identity people recognize, a reason for audiences to return, a production rhythm, and a strategy for what comes next. We Da People is an example of my work connecting creative direction, content strategy, and the systems that allow a media brand to grow.

The takeaway

This project shows the kind of work I enjoy most: taking an idea from the beginning, building the infrastructure behind it, and helping it become something people want to be part of.
