PRIVACY, the plain version

This policy explains what information onaoghogho.com collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. Adode Media has its own site and its own policy.

Who I am

This site belongs to Ona Oghogho, based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. When this policy says "I," "me" or "my," it means me. If you have a question about your information, reach me through the contact page.

What you share with me

The site has three forms. I only get what you type into them:

• Media kit: your first name, email and, if you choose, what the media kit is for.
• Speaking inquiry: your name, email, organization, event name, date, location, audience size, format, an optional budget range and your message.
• Contact: what your message is about, your first and last name, email, your message and, if you choose, your organization, a website or social link and a date.

I use this information to reply to you, send the media kit you asked for, and plan any work or event we discuss. I don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.

What is collected automatically

Like most websites, this one uses cookies and similar tools to understand how the site is used and whether it is working.

• Google Analytics records things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, how you found the site, your general location (city or region), and your device and browser type. I use it to see what is helpful and what isn't.
• Meta Pixel tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when someone visits a page, clicks certain buttons or sends a form. I use it to measure ads and to show ads to people who have visited this site. Meta may connect this with your Meta account if you have one.
• Hosting logs: the site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security and to keep the site running.

When a form is sent, the site tells Google and Meta that a form was sent and which kind. Your name, email and message are not sent to them.

Videos

Videos on this site come from YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.

Who else handles your information

I don't sell your personal information. A few services help run the site and see some of it while doing their job:

• Netlify hosts the site and stores form submissions.
• Google provides Google Analytics and YouTube.
• Meta provides the Meta Pixel.

I may also share information if the law requires it, or with people who help me with a project you have asked about, such as my team at Adode Media.

Your choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
• Turn off Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Control the ads Meta shows you in your Meta ad preferences.
• Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.
• Ask me to see, correct or delete what you sent through a form. Use the contact page and I'll take care of it.

Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state's or country's privacy laws. Contact me and I'll help.

How long I keep it

I keep form messages as long as I need them to reply and follow up on our conversation, then delete them. Google Analytics keeps visit data for up to 14 months.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and form submissions are stored in a password-protected account. No system is perfect, so please don't send sensitive information such as health or payment details through the forms.

Children

This site is for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent me information, contact me and I'll delete it.

Changes

If I change how the site handles information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
