Welcome back for another week of The Podcast Trapper, I’m your host Ona Oghogho and today I’m sharing the story of how I got started in podcasting.

For those of you who don’t know me, hi, welcome! Besides launching The Podcast Trapper this year I’ve also launched 3 different businesses all related to podcasting, within the last 3 years (and yes, I am tired!). We’re starting today’s journey way, way back even before the launch of Fierce Ass Boss, my first podcast back in 2019, with my untimely exit from corporate America.

From leaving corporate America to finding strangers to talk to on the internet, to eventually podcasting, today’s episode is a whirlwind of determination from someone who realized their dream career turned out to be something they never wanted to go back to.

Get an inside look at Blk Pod Collective, Blk Pod Festival and Adode Media and I’ll be answering the top 5 frequently asked questions I get as a business owner, podcast manager and podcaster.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has been here since day one, and remember to keep an eye on this space because I’ll be taking y’all behind the scenes at the 2023 Blk Pod Festival. And don’t forget, this is a visual and audio based podcast which means you need to subscribe to @thepodcasttrapper on YouTube and follow me on Instagram @thepodcasttrapper.

So until next week, I hope you guys enjoy and join me on this journey to trap it out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What keeps me motivated to keep going?

    • I’ve got an incredible team behind me that I have to keep showing up for. I will not be going back to corporate America and that keeps me working very hard.

  2. Why podcasting?

    • I’ve always loved communication. I was an avid writer in high school, I was on the school’s radio station, communication has just always been my thing. And it’s just an avenue to learn and grow.

  3. How many hours of podcasts do you listen to a week?

    • Honestly, about 30 at this point and that’s just our clients. I don’t have the bandwidth to listen to anything else. I’ve got a few nonclient shows I listen to that I’ll share with you later in this season.

Thank you all for being here, especially those of you who have been here since day one. Keep an eye on this space because I’ll be taking y’all behind the scenes at the 2023 Blk Pod Festival, as we work with clients, serve our community and so much more. So until next time, I hope you guys enjoy and join me on this journey to trap it out.
