Welcome back to The Podcast Trapper. I’m your host, Ona Oghogho and this week I’m answering a question that’s been popping up a lot lately, “What’s up with Blk Pod?” You might have noticed things at Blk Pod slowing down in recent months, and today I’m going to share why that is, and what’s next for Blk Pod Collective.

When Blk Pod Collective launched 4 years ago it was the first paid podcasting community for Black Podcasters I created it because I saw a need for a community and I knew that I could create a resource that could help Black creators in podcasting. Y’all, the first podcasting event I went to in Atlanta had one person of color in the room, and yes, it was me. So needless to say, I knew we needed a space like this.

Fast forward to today and there are several new communities like Blk Pod Collective being created. The growth in this space has led me to question what we need for our community? Is there a new need that we can fill? Are other people feeling as drained by Zoom Chats as I am? Is there a way we can show up in person for each other?

Let’s dive into the launch of Blk Pod Collective, my eventual burnout and what I see as the future of Blk Pod Collective as we head into 2023.

Remember, this is a visual and audio based podcast so make sure to subscribe to @thepodcasttrapper on Youtube, tell a friend and I’ll see y’all next week.
